Kerry Film Festival's First Open Air Summer Cinema of the summer is a resounding success!

Friday 16th June saw the first open air cinema of the season in Tralee Town park courtesy of Kerry Film Festival in conjunction with Kerry County Council as part of the Feile na nBlath festival which was taking place this weekend. On a beautiful summer's night and with the smell of vendor's fast food and fresh popcorn in the air, a large crowd armed with blankets, camping chairs and insect repellent (the most precious commodity of the lot!) gathered to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and of course the brilliant Sing Street which was playing on the large screen!
A film, already awash with critical acclaim, award recognition and audience appreciation it is nonetheless a must see (in any environment) for those of us that haven't experienced John Carney's masterpiece. Such a uplifting, feel good coming of age tale was perfectly matched to a glorious summer's evening and it was obvious from the laughter, foot stomping to the hypnotic tunes and warm round of applause afterwards that this was just the right movie for the occasion! (and all this was free of charge!)
Huge congrats are due to all involved for another fantastic event!
Summer Open Air Cinema will next appear in conjunction with the July 4th Festival in Killarney as part of the festival celebrations.
