What movies to watch this weekend?

In the Cinema:

American Assassin:
Based on the novel by the late Vince Flynn and containing the always consistent Michael Keaton this action thriller about deals with a story centered on counterterrorism agent Mitch Rapp and should be an entertaining enough watch for fans of the genre

At Home:

Miss Sloane:
Dealing with the unsavoury world of  political power-brokers, Jessica Chastain plays a DC lobbyist taking on the most powerful opponent of her career. Earned rave reviews for Chastain's strong performance on it's cinematic release and is well worth a look!

On Telly

Lincoln (RTE 1 Saturday 16th September 23:22pm)
Daniel Day Lewis won the last of his three Oscars for this role in Steven Spielberg's 2011 biopic Lincoln. Not many actors could so easily convince in such a weighty lead role but this understated and profound performance from this master of his craft rightfully earned him yet another Oscar nod. Excellent!
