His films received many nominations including winning a Cinematography Award for his last short film: Sineater. Both his previous short films are currently being distributed worldwide by Shorts TV.

Director, Bertie says: “Producing Con was a film school unto itself. Each film is an experiment in creativity and Con turned out better than I expected. I felt that it's a film that should go straight to distribution and be among the largest marketplace in the world. It cost 7,000 euros from idea all the way to the screen, and I wanted to prove to myself that you can make films that have depth and weight with very little money if you have enough entrepreneurial spirit. The film is not for everyone, but the reviewers seem to enjoy it and are praising the acting which is a testimony to the level of talent here in Ireland.”

Reviews for Con:

"Con” is introspective, protracted, well-acted, and wraps up well. It’s slow-paced, feeling long at only an hour and nine minutes; but if you have the patience for slow-crafted indies, you’ll likely find a film you can relate to.” - THE MOVIE BUFF

"In total, with its smartly conceived execution, entertaining characters, and relevant social statements it makes about celebrity and addiction, “Con” should stand as a worthy entry to the indie film arena, hopefully, appreciated for the sometimes quirky, but always lucid, character-based effort it is." - ONEFILMFAN.COM  total, with its smartly conceived execution,

"There are a number of compelling reasons to like this unique and interesting film. Bertie Brosnan’s impressive, and knowing, performance as Con is one of those compelling reasons." - LZ LARK ebrity and addiction, “Con” should stand as a worthy entry to the indie film arena, hopefully appreciated for the sometimes quirky, but always lucid,
