How to Start Your Own Film Club

As is noticeable in recent weeks, sometimes cinema offerings can experience a lull with very little movies of interest for sometimes weeks on end. At times like this, or just for the novelty effect or as an idea to watch some great (or maybe not so great) movies with like minded movie fans, why not create your own film club?
The principle is similar to that of a book club with the chief difference being, unlike in a book club - you don't have to attend film club meetings with the movie already seen!
It is advisable to have maybe 5-6 initial members to gather in a different location for each viewing (take turns in hosting movie screenings). All that is required is a TV screen, Blu-ray, streaming facilities, snacks and good company to make an entertaining evening!
Let each member choose a particular movie of their own choosing and you would be surprised what types of cinematic delights you may never have tried, or indeed heard off if not for other peoples recommendations!
There are lots of ways to make your film club fun and interesting! You could pick a movie based on a particular theme or genre! You could offer snacks according to the geograhical setting of the movie! Everyone could research a particular fun fact or story behind the making of the film!
All in all, film clubs are a great way to experience further the joys of cinema, without breaking the bank and even having a bit of fun and enterainment along the way!
