Top 5 Feel-Good movies

Now that the sun has finally decided to make an appearance and everyone is in good form, my mind wanders to examples of moviemaking that can evoke these happy thoughts on viewing. As much as we all love a meaningful drama, tension filled thriller or frightening horror movie sometimes a movie that generates that fuzzy feeling of joy is just what the doctor ordered so I've decided to list 5 such movies for when you may need that cinematic pick me up!

5. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
The ultimate movie about being young and having fun! Worthy of repeat viewing for the antics of Matthew Broderick and crew on their day away from the trials and tribulations of high school. Try watching this without a smile on your face! Impossible! Killer soundtrack too!

4. Love Actually
So sweet it may give you diabetes and cynics have critized it for this but leave the cynicism to one side and you have a collection of sweet and funny tales brought together in the undeniable style of Richard Curtis. This all star cast seems to be really having fun with the script and it shows. Guaranteed to bring out a smile in its audience!

3.Forrest Gump
Robert Zemeckis sentimentally overloaded film was famous for the technology on show but it's also the sweetness and charm of this movie along with the incredible performances of it's cast that contribute to 2 hrs and 22 mins of unadulterated joy at a film that always entertains! Another killer soundtrack too!

2. Big
Another Tom Hanks movie on the list this comedy fantasy is perfect cinematic escapism that due to the innocence and charm showed by it's lead actor grasps the viewers attention and never lets go. A sweet movie that's bound to bring happiness on repeated viewings!

1. Groundhog Day
A film worthy of a place on multiple top 5 lists but undoubetdly belongs here as the magnetic Bill Murrays character transformation on his day that never ends results in a sweet and charming film that remains to this day the standout film of the great Harold Ramis.
