5 movies to watch on Netflix in May

If summer blockbuster movies are not your thing, then the cinema may have limited choices available to you during the summer months so you may have to make alternative arrangements to find that suitable film for your viewing pleasure . Fear Not! - for your viewing pleasure I have decided to once again sift through the vast array of quality movies on Netflix this month and recommend five classics so you don't have to spend half the night flicking through Netflix's choices before deciding that you are now too tired to watch a film anyway and vow to return at a later date just to do the very same thing!!
Here are my movie picks for your enjoyment for this month:

5. Philomena
Powerful true story directed by Stephen Frears and featuring powerful performances by Steve Coogan and the amazing Judi Dench. This hearfelt drama is well worth catching while you can on Netflix.

4. Hot Fuzz
Second film in Edgar Wright's Cornetto Trilogy this action parody comedy may not be quite as brilliant as Shaun of the Dead but there is more than enough to keep fans of the genre entertained and the always reliable partnership of Pegg and Frost is joined here by some top notch performances from the likes of Jim Broadbent and a remarkable Timothy Dalton.

3.Selma
A powerful central performance by David Oyelowo (which justifiably earned him an Oscar nomination) this powerful and inspiring film which deals with the epic civil rights march from Selma to Montogomery is compelling viewing and is a must see movie!

2. Eastern Promises
David Cronenbeg at this brilliant best, powered by a superb turn by Viggo Mortensen in the central role makes this highly tense psychological drama a welcome addition to the impressive movie catalogue now available on Netflix.

1. Bone Tomahawk
A movie that has enjoyed cult like status since its 2015 release this genre hopping film may not be for everyone but  it's powerful performances and premise may satisfy those in search of something slightly different from their usual movie going fare!
