Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tale
The only new release to Tralee Omniplex this week, at this stage this is strictly one for fans of the genre as a change of director and the introduction of the always brilliant Javier Bardem can't save this sinking franchise. MAXX screening may make this a bit more visually bearable however!

Criminally overlooked around award season, this true story about a lost boy's mission to reunite with his family is a truly uplifting, heartfelt tale that avoids the usual cliches attached to this genre and is notable for the amazing performances notably Sunny Pawar as 5 year old Saroo. Quite simply, one of the best movies you'll see this year!
On Telly
Whiplash (RTE1 Sunday 27th May 21:20pm)
Outstanding directorial debut by Damien Chazzelle and starring Oscar winning J.K.Simmons in a role of a lifetime this high energy, intense and inspiring tale was undoubtedly one of the best films of 2014 and well worthy of repeated viewing.
