Review:John Wick Chapter 2

As I really enjoyed the first John Wick with its high octane action sequences, gaping potholes, ham fisted performances yet explosive thrills and fight scenes, it was with great excitement that I approached John Wick 2 looking forward to more of the same. Whilst the action and thrills were even louder and brasher, the movie itself left me a bit unsatisfied. I'm aware that with Keanu Reeves as you're leading man in an action movie, plot and storyline aren't the big priorities but this was just that tad bit too ludicrous as a whole. The action just seemed to be thrown in for the sake of it and the more violent the better. The level of choreography in these action sequences was not up to the high quality of the first and even though poor plot is a given in these type of movies at times this film was beyond unbelievable without the thrills to back it up. Reviews elsewhere have been,to my surprise, hugely positive but if you want to see a scarcely believable yet highly impressive action film revisit Gareth Edwards masterpiece of the genre,The Raid instead.
Disappointing.
