5. Batman vs Superman
The yardstick by which all "turkeys" are measured. This film could and should have been so much more. With Zack Synder at the helm and a cast that included Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck and Michael Shannon this could have been epic but all the audience got was a movie that tried to batter it's senses in a terrible mish mash of a film that seems to drag its way through it's incredible 3 hour running time!
4. Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
After the hyper excitement and anticipation comes crushing disappointment when after a 19 year wait George Lucas seems more concerned with stunning visuals than an entertaining yarn as the fourth in the Star Wars series gets stifled with a cumbersome narrative and some really annoying characters. (Jar Jar Binks anyone?)
3.Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
If a remake of a children's classic movie was ever to be attempted you would think that the winning combination of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp would be the pair to do it but a lack of warmth and heart that is evident in the original and an extensively creepy performance by Johnny Depp results in this adaptation falling way short of the mark!
2.Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
An inconsistent plot, appalling CGI effects and an extra dose of cheese made this extra chapter in the Indiana Jones series a major letdown. A film with Spielberg again in the drivers seat and the return of Harrison Ford as Indy should have delivered so much more! Also not one of Ray Winstones finer moments! Dreadful!
1. Public Enemies
A combination of a cast that included Christian Bale, Johnny Depp and Marion Cotillard in a movie directed by Michael Mann about the capture of the notorious John Dillinger should have been a home run but instead the audience were subjected to a film that lacked any real drama and meandered it's way to an inevitable conclusion leaving all in it's wake cold! Should have been so much better!
